Learn how to assemble your Hyper Urban Bicycle quickly and correctly with this step-by-step guide from Hyper Bicycles. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, our video walks you through unboxing, installing the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, seat, and more — all with tools included in the box or your basic toolkit.
Tools You'll Need:
Wire Cutter
15MM Open End Wrench
5MM Allen Key
4MM Allen Key
4MM Allen Torque Wrench
(Set to 5 NM)
Install the Handlebars
Start by securing the handlebars to the bike’s frame. The handlebars play a crucial role in maintaining bike stability, so make sure the expansion wedge is tightened properly to prevent any movement during your rides.
Adjust the Seat Post
Next, adjust the seat post for comfort. Insert the seat post fully into the seat tube until the minimum insertion line is no longer visible. This ensures a secure fit and prevents any safety issues while riding.
Attach the Front Wheel
Carefully install the front wheel by first ensuring the axle nuts are loosened and the brake caliper is released. This step is critical for proper wheel fitting. Once everything is aligned, insert the wheel into the fork and tighten the nuts securely.
Install the Pedals
Remove the pedals from the parts box. For the right pedal (drive side), screw it in by rotating clockwise. For the left pedal (non-drive side), screw it in by rotating counterclockwise. Make sure the threads are aligned properly to prevent damage.
Secure the Reflectors
For safety, install the front and rear reflectors. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to securely fasten them in place. Proper reflector positioning increases visibility and is essential for your safety during rides, especially in low light.
Adjust the Brakes
Brake adjustments are key to ensuring effective stopping power. Use the appropriate tools to align the brake pads with the rims, ensuring they contact properly when you squeeze the brake lever. This ensures optimal performance and safety on the road.
Final Checks for Safety
Before your first ride, do a thorough safety check:
Brake Pads: Make sure the brake pads are properly aligned with the rims.
Tire Pressure: Check the tire pressure to ensure it's at the recommended level for smooth handling and to prevent flat tires.
Handlebar Stability: Test the handlebars by gently attempting to rotate them. They should be securely fastened to prevent any steering issues.
Ready for Your Ride
Once all components are securely in place, your Hyper Urban Bicycle is ready for the road. Double-check all steps, make any necessary adjustments, and then enjoy your smooth, comfortable ride.
